Things to do in the Tamar Valley
There are a number of ways you might like to spend your time in the valley :
- Enjoy the river, either by hiring a rowing boat with outboard motor, taking a guided canoe trip, or helping to sail a small gaff-rigged boat.
- Take a scenic train journey on the Tamar Valley Line, from Gunnislake down to Plymouth, maybe stopping off at one or two of the small villages en route for something to eat and drink.
- See the area at a slower pace by taking advantage of numerous public footpaths ( including the Tamar Trail ) or by cycling along quiet country lanes, or even in a hot air balloon.
- Fish for salmon or sea trout on one of the most beautiful stretches of river in the country.
